Fall Booth Design at the Mustard Seed Market
Written by Bethany Curee, God’s Daughter – Freckled & Free
Welp, it was another one for the books folks. The weather was superb, the mood was so fall, and we savored every minute of being an outdoor vendor for the first time (besides one minor hiccup with a few pieces and a surprise light rain…lesson learned).

For once, I’m going to try to keep this recap short and sweet, but as you know, I get a little long winded when it comes to one of my favorite things, design.
Let’s jump right in!
For this season, we opted to use our 1975 airstream ambassador. If you’ve come to the market before we typically are in the Walnut Barn, taking up a large corner of real estate. Unfortunately, my husband Tom had to travel out of state for a work conference the last day of the market. Since he is our main muscle and trailer driver, there was just no way I could tear down the big booth by myself. Hence the smart idea of utilizing our airstream instead, which we had just finished a quick 5 day Reno on in the spring so that we could start using the bad boy for family time and camping. Which I might add, has been a true gift from God.
Being this market was for fall, that’s exactly the look I was going for. From start to finish our booth design was a labor of love. From pickin’, to placing and designing, everything…and I mean everything…takes thoughtful placement to make you feel inspired, homey and hopeful for the season we are in. I love incorporating as much natural elements as I can, because let’s be honest, God is the best designer of all.

I gotta tell you though, I had been saving these sycamore branches from trimming our trees a few months earlier, Tom was really excited about it (HA), but even he agrees they were exactly what we needed throughout the booth to really add to the fall design. In addition, I used my personal fall budget for mums, florals and pumpkins to add further fall feels to the booth and then repurposed them at home.

Grants Greenhouses are always my go to for this. They have such a beautiful array of selection to inspire me for my booth and my home no matter the season. Here were my pre-market shopping florals and pumpkins used in the booth, and my sweet girls enjoying the amazing free vendor lunches from Street Kitchen, thanks to our market host and creators Rustic Grains. It took one extra thing off for us during set-up days at the market.
And…could these striking mustard florals below be any more perfect for the Fall Mustard Seed Market? Color…on point, texture…just dreamy. Perfect booth addition.

Throughout the booth you will see I sprinkled in custom graphics I made in beautiful vintage and antique frames with all sorts of “harvest” messages, and seasonal appropriate verbiage.

And let’s just talk about this beautiful antique desk and olive green leather chair that were hot sellers this market. I had so much fun staging this set up.

In addition, my momma, aka, ShePlants creator and writer debut again in the booth. I had her incredible poem, The Love Affair, which I shared on the blog last fall, printed on tapestry for purchase as well as in beautiful frames. I love how they turned out and I couldn’t be prouder to spread her amazing poems and writings.

From antique dressers, wicker baskets and vintage mirrors, we had something beautiful to add to your home and decor.

This antique fall floral printed couch featured below was the most splendid anchor of the outdoor booth. Its gorgeous wooden feet and details were a superb addition to the space. She has found a new home now and will be cherished for many years to come.
In the super rad lolli-pop crate we styled these vintage 7up and RC bottles which are perfect flower vases. I can’t believe they are still available. Kentucky Derby and Bengals fans we have what you need for a dainty nod. I think we even have some Steelers ones…

But for any season a table is fun to style. I had particular fun with this one. The girls collected acorns and leaves for me from our yard that made the perfect accents. An array of textures, vary sizes and layers create visual interest and beauty in a fall table display featuring a collected look for your home. No one can deny a darling plaid table cloth with a ruffle, am I right?

Between my yard and my mother’s yard we had enough florals to dress up all the vases in the booth to really set the mood. What dreamy coloring. And did you know, we always let you keep the florals in the vase they are displayed in if you purchase one? Can’t beat that.

By day three, things were getting sparser, which isn’t a bad thing. Shuffling the booth around becomes a new challenge that we don’t mind taking when doing a market. From this shot, shuffling had taken place and those gorgeous antique sitting chairs, vintage blue projector screen, large gold antique mirror and other various items were about to go bye bye.

As we make it to the inside of the airstream, our queen bed platform transforms into a light and airy fall beauty. Grounded by an oak mock floral fireplace mantle. The challenge of the treasure hunt begins as you explore all the goodies we packed in.

The only ghost that lives here is the Holy Ghost. John 14:26
Themed throughout the booth.

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26

Antique phonograph, Victrola record player, many mantique finds, large letter signs, retro scale and other unique pieces were stashed inside and outside the airstream making a super fun and quaint shopping experience we think everyone got a kick out of. We even utilized our vintage remake Frigidaire frige to sell cute little drinks out of so it served a purpose.

Being my college degree is graphic design, I tried another option this time around by making simple & clean custom Freckled & Free 11×17 prints as an option for you to either find your own frame, or hang it as is for a seasonal splash on thicker cardstock. These were very fun to display and made me feel extra special when you snagged one to bring home.

As always we are continuing to sell Hosanna Revival’s beautiful collection of stunning Bibles, devotions, journals and more. This time bringing sketchbooks, stickers and the beloved KJV Bibles. And as a gift to you we are always offering 10% off Hosanna Revival products on us.

Such a lovely collection of items to bring you closer to King Jesus. May you feel His hope, love and peace in our booth.

I’m a sucker for vintage and antique baby beds and bassinets. They have sooo many good uses. Whether it’s for your little girls room for dollies and stuffed animals or I personally absolutely love using them at home to stage plants in. Either way you just can’t go wrong with sprucing up a space with one of these cuties.

Well you’ve seen her a few times but the “Mrs. Doubtfire” painting we picked and framed, finally found her new home. The happy owner pictured below was absolutely thrilled and so were we.

From the food trucks to the vendors, there was something for everyone, young and old alike. Shopping, hayrides, face painting, live music and more.

Once again, I couldn’t be prouder of my kiddos representing at their Little Saplings booth, Nakoda’s Nook & Crew. Learning business, customer service and social skills selling their selection of handmade goods from jewelry, to artwork, lego creations, barn signs and so much more. All of the Little Saplings vendors did an amazing job!

As you know we absolutely love the Mustard Seed Market. We plan to continue to support this market as much as we can and it’s the only market we show at. Personally knowing the host and creators, Rustic Grains, we know they put their heart and soul into thinking of YOU. We believe in what they stand for and are trying to create here at the market. So you can continue to find us here. Lastly, a BIG thank you to all of you supporting the many small businesses you can find here.

As always you can watch a reel of the creation process here of our booth. With that said, make sure to follow me on Instagram @freckled_and_free and follow the host and owners of the Mustard Seed Market on Instagram @mustardseedmarketoh and Rustic Grains @rusticgrainsco.

In the meantime, we’ll be out hunting for more goods until we see you again and we hope that we do. Whether we are in a barn or maybe the airstream again…you will just have to wait and see at the Winter Mustard Seed Market, happening November 17-19 at the Clermont County Fairgrounds.
